We have had fantastic community support - please see below for all those that have given donations to help us, or supported us with a project or activities.
Partnered Projects.
Urban Roots
Urban roots provided basic cookery classes and then encouraged some of the guys to do their Food Hygiene certificate, and Billy progressed to do a teaching certificate, so that we can run our own classes.
Our Shed provides Urban Roots food projects with our home grown produce of fruit and vegetables, and produce kindly donated by the South Western Allotments Association.
Bike for Good
Bike for Good have provided us with Bike leaders for our Cycling groups and provided 2 bike pods and new bikes to add to our collection. We can now allow people to borrow the bikes and run our own cycle trips - promoting fitness and wellbeing.
Friends of Pollok Park
Friends of Pollok approached us to make bird and bats boxes for the park. The guys were happy to oblige, and came up with these .
Science Centre
We have been involved with their Wetlands project consultation and strimming and clearing their “Wee Forrest” for them. They have invited the guys for a day’s visit at the science centre and there are ongoing communicaitons for other
House for an Art Lover
House for Art Lover provided art classes in ceramic making, photography and basic art classes through from pencil drawing to water colours. They also helped design a metal sign for the Shed.
Friends of Pollok Park
Friends of Pollok approached us the following year to make Hedgehog Boxes for the park. John was happy to oblige, and came up with these .
Funding Contributers
We have been fortunate to obtain grants and donations from QNIS, EMR Metal Recycling, Govan Area Partnership, Stalled Spaces, The Endrick Trust, The National Lottery ( three times), W.G Edwards Charitable Trust, Barchester Foundation, The Stafford Trust, D.W.T Cargill Fund, The Robertson Trust ( three times) , Edrington Group, Foundation Scotland ( twice), The Hugh Fraser Foundation, Vegware community Fund, Co-op community fund, Arnold Clark community fund, Govan Housing Association, Thales, B.A.E Systems, and The Alex Ferry Foundation. We’ve had plant donations from Dobbies and various donations from lots of special individuals - you know who you are . The City of Glasgow Wind Orchestra, and some of the members of Govan and Linthouse Church have given their time to help us raise funds.
